The project SCOBY (acronym for Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast) investigates the properties and possibilities of cellulose produced by bacteria. Through the inherent activity of the organic material, the raw material becomes an active component in the design process. At the same time, the mutability of the material is explored on the basis of various influencing factors – growth, harvest and drying.
